Setup, Compatibility & Care
Initial Setup:
Upon receiving the bike, professional assembly is recommended to ensure all components are correctly installed and adjusted. This includes securing the handlebars, seatpost, pedals, and verifying brake and gear system functionality. The integrated battery may require an initial charge before the first ride. Consult the Bosch eBike system manual for specific charging instructions.
Compatibility:
- Tires: Designed for a mix of on-road and light off-road use, compatible with standard puncture-resistant touring tires.
- Accessories: Features an Integrated Carrier 3.0 for compatible panniers. Other accessories like bottle cages, lights, and GPS mounts can typically be fitted to standard mounting points.
- Drivetrain: Uses a Gates belt drive and Enviolo hub, which require specific maintenance tools and knowledge.
Care and Maintenance:
- Cleaning: Clean the frame and components with mild soap and water using a soft cloth. Avoid high-pressure washers, especially near bearings and electronics.
- Belt Drive: The Gates belt drive is low maintenance. Periodically check for debris and ensure proper tension. Lubrication is not required.
- Brakes: Shimano hydraulic disc brakes require occasional inspection of pads and rotors. Brake fluid bleeding may be needed periodically by a qualified mechanic.
- Suspension: Keep the suspension fork stanchions clean. Refer to the SR Suntour manual for specific air pressure and maintenance recommendations.
- Battery: Store the Bosch battery in a cool, dry place when not in use. Avoid extreme temperatures. Follow Bosch guidelines for optimal battery longevity.
- Electronics: Ensure the Bosch system's software is up-to-date via a dealer. Keep connections clean and dry.
