Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Using your Antora Rain Parka is straightforward. Simply put it on over your chosen layers. Adjust the three-piece hood using the drawcord and cord locks to fit snugly around your head, especially in windy or heavy rain. Ensure the storm flap is properly secured over the center front zip for maximum protection. The encased-elastic cuffs are designed to provide a comfortable seal around your wrists.
Compatibility
This parka features a standard fit, designed for comfortable movement and layering. It's an outer shell, meaning it does not provide significant insulation on its own. For colder weather, pair it with appropriate base layers (e.g., thermal long sleeves) and mid-layers (e.g., fleece jacket or insulated vest) to regulate your warmth. Its lightweight nature makes it easy to pack for unpredictable weather during travel or day trips.
Care Instructions
Proper care will maintain the parka's performance and extend its lifespan. Always refer to the care label inside your garment for specific instructions. Generally, for DryVent™ polyester garments:
- Preparation: Before washing, close all zippers and hook-and-loop fasteners. Loosen any drawcords.
- Washing: Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with a small amount of liquid detergent. Do not use powder detergents, fabric softeners, or bleach, as these can impair the waterproof membrane and DWR finish.
- Rinsing: Run an extra rinse cycle to ensure all detergent is removed.
- Drying: Tumble dry on a low heat setting. Alternatively, hang dry in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight. Once dry, you can tumble dry on low heat for an additional 20 minutes to reactivate the DWR finish. If the DWR starts to fail, a DWR re-treatment product can be applied (follow product instructions).
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place, ideally hung to maintain its shape.
