Setup, Compatibility & Care
Installation is straightforward but requires basic tools: a drill, drill bits, and a screwdriver. 1. Align the hasp on the door frame and mark the screw holes. 2. Pre-drill pilot holes if mounting into hardwood to prevent splitting. 3. Secure the base plate using the provided hardware. 4. Attach the staple plate to the door jamb. Once installed, periodic inspection of the mounting screws is recommended to ensure they remain tight. If used outdoors in coastal areas, consider a light wipe-down with a silicone-based spray once or twice a year to maintain the integrity of the powder coating against salt-air corrosion.
