Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup Instructions
- Unpack and Inspect: Carefully unbox all components. Check for any damage to the glass or cabinet parts before assembly.
- Assemble the Cabinet: Follow the provided instructions meticulously for assembling the two-door MDF cabinet. It is recommended to have two people for this step due to the size and weight of the panels.
- Position the Cabinet: Place the assembled cabinet on a sturdy, level surface capable of supporting the full weight of the tank when filled with water, gravel, and decorations (approximately 300kg+).
- Place the Tank: Carefully lift the aquarium onto the cabinet, ensuring it sits squarely and evenly on the top surface. The fitted feet on the cabinet provide stability.
- Install Internal Components: Place the filter media, air pump, and heater inside the tank as per instructions. Ensure the heater is fully submerged before plugging it in.
- Add Substrate and Decorations: Rinse your chosen gravel or substrate thoroughly before adding it to the tank. Arrange decorations, ensuring they are stable and won't harm fish.
- Fill with Water: Slowly fill the tank with water, using a plate or plastic bag to disperse the water flow and avoid disturbing the substrate. Add dechlorinator as needed.
- Start Cycling: Plug in the filter, air pump, and heater. Allow the tank to cycle for several weeks *before* introducing any fish to establish beneficial bacteria.
Compatibility
This aquarium is highly versatile, designed to house:
- Freshwater Fish: Ideal for species requiring significant space.
- Tropical Fish: The adjustable 300W heater allows for precise temperature control.
- Saltwater Marine Life: Suitable for marine setups, though it's crucial to seek professional advice regarding specific marine requirements and fish species before purchase.
Care and Maintenance
- Water Changes: Perform regular partial water changes (e.g., 25% weekly) to remove nitrates and replenish essential minerals.
- Filter Maintenance: Rinse filter media in old tank water every 2-4 weeks to remove accumulated detritus. Replace filter media every 3-6 months as it degrades, following manufacturer guidelines.
- Glass Cleaning: Use an aquarium-safe magnetic cleaner or scraper to remove algae from the interior glass. Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth.
- Heater Check: Regularly check that the heater is fully submerged and maintaining the set temperature.
- Research: Always research the specific needs of any marine life you intend to keep, including water parameters, diet, and compatibility with other species.
