Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Placement: Select a sturdy, level surface capable of supporting the full weight of the tank when filled with water (approx. 300kg + tank/cabinet weight).
- Cabinet Assembly: Assemble the matching matt black cabinet according to the provided instructions. Ensure the fitted feet are securely attached and adjusted for stability.
- Tank Placement: Carefully place the aquarium onto the assembled cabinet, ensuring it is centred and stable.
- Equipment Installation: Install the built-in filter, air pump, and detachable 300W heater according to their respective guidelines. Ensure all electrical connections are secure and away from water.
- Lighting: Connect the LED lighting system within the lid. The bulbs are pre-fitted, but check connections.
- Cycling: Before adding fish, perform the crucial "cycling" process to establish beneficial bacteria, which can take several weeks. Consult an aquarist for guidance on this vital step.
Compatibility
This versatile aquarium is compatible with:
- Freshwater Fish: Ideal for community tanks, cichlids, or large schooling fish.
- Tropical Fish: The 300W heater maintains optimal temperatures for a wide range of tropical species.
- Marine Fish: Suitable for marine setups, though additional specialized equipment (e.g., protein skimmer, live rock) may be required depending on the species.
Care
- Daily: Feed fish, check water temperature and equipment function.
- Weekly: Perform a 10-25% partial water change, clean visible algae from glass, check filter media for blockages.
- Monthly: Deep clean filter media (rinse in old tank water), gravel vacuum (if applicable), test water parameters (ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, pH).
- General: Wipe down the exterior of the tank and cabinet with a damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners. Ensure the lid's gaps for hoses and cables remain clear.
