FAQs
Are these gloves waterproof?
The gloves are designed for warmth and breathability, not as a waterproof barrier. They will handle light moisture but are not intended for submersion or heavy rain.
Can I wash these in a machine?
Hand washing is recommended to maintain the integrity of the silicone grip and conductive tips. If machine washing is necessary, use a delicate cycle in a mesh bag.
Are they suitable for skiing?
They are ideal for cross-country skiing or light active wear, but for downhill skiing in freezing temperatures, you may require a heavier, waterproof mitten or glove.
Do they fit true to size?
Yes, they generally follow standard sizing. Refer to the Adidas size chart for your specific hand measurements to ensure the best fit.
Will the silicone grip wear off?
With regular use and proper care, the silicone grip will remain effective for a long time, though it may eventually show signs of wear depending on the intensity of use.
Troubleshooting
Touchscreen not responding
Ensure your fingertips are positioned correctly within the glove and that the screen is free of excessive moisture or debris.
Hands feel damp during use
Ensure the gloves are not being worn during periods of inactivity in freezing conditions; increase physical movement to activate the breathable insulation.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Retains warmth while preventing overheating through breathability
- Touchscreen compatibility works effectively with most modern devices
- Silicone palm grip provides excellent traction on various surfaces
- Lightweight and packable for easy storage in a jacket pocket
- Soft internal lining ensures comfort for all-day wear
Cons
- Not fully waterproof for heavy snow or rain exposure
- May require occasional air-drying after intense aerobic activity
- Touchscreen responsiveness can be slightly less precise compared to bare skin
Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure your gloves perform optimally, refer to these maintenance guidelines:
- Fitting: Ensure you select the size that provides a snug fit across the palm to maintain full contact with the conductive fingertips.
- Cleaning: Hand wash in cold water using a mild detergent to preserve the silicone grip and fabric integrity. Avoid bleach or fabric softeners.
- Drying: Air dry the gloves away from direct heat sources like radiators or tumble dryers, as high heat can degrade the conductive threading.
- Storage: Keep in a cool, dry place when not in use. Ensure they are completely dry before storing to prevent odor development.
