The B&Q 50mm Real Wood Venetian Blind is an ideal window treatment for homeowners seeking to balance natural warmth with functional light control in living rooms, bedrooms, or offices. Crafted from high-quality timber, these blinds offer a timeless, sophisticated aesthetic that complements a variety of decor styles, from rustic to modern. While they provide excellent privacy and ambiance adjustment through their wide 50mm slats, users should note that as a real wood product, they require specific care to maintain their finish and performance over time.

While these blinds are designed for standard sizing, minor adjustments should only be performed by professionals to avoid damaging the wood slats or the mechanical components.
Real wood is generally susceptible to moisture. We recommend avoiding installation in high-humidity areas like bathrooms unless the room has excellent, constant ventilation.
Use a dry, soft duster or a microfibre cloth. Avoid water or liquid cleaners, as moisture can cause the real wood to warp or discolour.
While they provide excellent light control, 50mm wooden blinds are not classified as true 'blackout' products. Some light may still filter through the gaps between slats.
The woven tapes cover the cord holes in the slats, providing a cleaner aesthetic look and a slight increase in privacy by blocking light leakage through the cord perforations.
Use the designated tilt wand or cord provided to gently rotate the slats to your preferred angle for light control.
Check that the tilt mechanism is fully engaged and that no debris is lodged in the cord path along the header rail.
Ensure the blind is fully tilted to the open position before lifting; raising the blind while the slats are closed causes unnecessary strain on the internal mechanism.
Gently straighten the slats by hand and ensure the lift cords are not tangled or wrapped around the internal brackets.
Installation requires basic hand tools to mount the brackets securely to your window lintel or frame. Ensure your window recess is deep enough to accommodate the 50mm slat width to prevent the blinds from protruding unnecessarily. For care, avoid using harsh liquid cleaners or chemical polishes, as these can strip or warp the natural wood. Instead, use a soft, dry microfibre cloth or a specialised dusting mitt to clear debris from each slat individually. If the blind is installed in a room with high humidity, such as a bathroom, ensure the space is well-ventilated to prevent potential warping of the wood slats.
