The Unifix Machine Screws Slotted Pan Head are high-quality fasteners designed for professional contractors and DIY enthusiasts who require reliable, consistent performance across multiple surface types. These screws excel in securing components within wood, plastic, and metal projects, offering robust durability and ease of installation. One caveat to keep in mind is that, as these are slotted pan head screws, users should ensure they use the correct size flat-blade screwdriver to prevent cam-out or damage to the screw head during tightening.

While these are durable, they are designed for standard applications; for long-term outdoor exposure, you should verify if your specific application requires stainless or galvanized alternatives.
These screws require a standard flat-blade (slotted) screwdriver.
These are standard machine screws; while they can cut into soft plastics, for metal applications, you should always drill a pilot hole first.
No, these are not masonry fasteners and will not hold securely in concrete or brick without appropriate wall plugs or anchors.
The pan head provides a flat-bottomed head that sits on top of the surface, offering excellent clamping force for thin materials.
Ensure you are using a flat-head driver of the correct width and thickness. If stripped, use a pair of locking pliers to remove the screw and replace it with a new unit.
Verify that your pilot hole is the correct diameter for the screw size. Lubricate the threads slightly or use a tapping tool to cut the threads first.
To achieve the best results, always select a screwdriver blade that fits snugly into the screw slot; a loose fit will lead to premature wear of the slot. When tightening, apply steady, consistent downward pressure to keep the driver engaged. For metallic applications, consider adding a drop of machine oil if the resistance is too high to prevent heat buildup. These screws should be stored in a dry, temperate environment to prevent potential corrosion of the thread surfaces over extended periods. Periodically check fasteners in high-vibration equipment and tighten if necessary to ensure the structural assembly remains secure.
