The New Balance Tektrel V1 is designed for adult male runners who require a reliable trainer for off-road adventures, ranging from muddy park trails to rocky forest paths. Its primary benefit is the combination of aggressive traction and consistent underfoot cushioning, ensuring stability on uneven surfaces. One notable caveat is that as a dedicated trail shoe, its outsole is optimized for outdoor grip and may show faster wear if used extensively on abrasive concrete or asphalt surfaces.

The Tektrel V1 is designed for breathability and comfort on the trail; while they handle wet terrain well, they are not marketed as waterproof.
While they are safe for road sections, the AT Tread outsole is optimized for dirt, mud, and rocks. Excessive road running will lead to faster wear of the rubber lugs.
This model follows standard New Balance sizing. If you have worn New Balance trainers before, your usual size should be the correct fit.
The Tektrel V1 features a secure, supportive fit. If you typically require wide-width shoes, we recommend checking if your specific retailer offers the Wide (2E) version of this model.
Generally, performance running shoes retain their midsole integrity for 300 to 500 miles, depending on your running surface and body weight.
Try a 'runner's loop' lacing technique to better lock in the heel and midfoot for a more secure fit.
Use a stiff brush to clear debris from between the lugs after your run to maintain peak traction performance for your next outing.
The Tektrel V1 is a performance shoe with a structured fit; take them for short, 20-minute walks before heading out on long runs to allow the materials to adapt to your foot shape.
To ensure the best experience with the Tektrel V1, start by ensuring the laces are tensioned evenly across the midfoot to leverage the built-in support structure. Because these are performance trainers, they are compatible with standard aftermarket orthotics if additional arch support is needed. To maintain the life of the shoe, clean mud and debris from the outsole after each run using a soft-bristled brush. Avoid submerging the shoes in water or putting them in a tumble dryer, as this can degrade the foam integrity and adhesive bonds. If the shoes become soaked, remove the insoles and allow them to air dry naturally in a cool, well-ventilated area away from direct heat sources.
