While extremely comfortable and stylish, the XT-6 is primarily engineered for performance in challenging outdoor conditions. Its robust features might be over-engineered for purely casual, everyday urban wear, though many choose to wear them for their unique aesthetic and comfort.

Brush off loose dirt when dry. For stubborn marks, use a soft cloth with lukewarm water and mild soap on the synthetic textile upper. Clean the outsole with a stiff brush and water. Always air dry away from direct heat, and remove insoles to air them out regularly.

The Salomon XT-6 is best suited for varied and challenging terrains, including muddy trails, loose dirt, rocky paths, and uneven surfaces. The Mud Contagrip® outsole ensures excellent traction in these conditions.

Thanks to their comfortable cushioning and flexible design, the XT-6 typically requires minimal break-in. However, it's always recommended to wear them for shorter periods initially before tackling long distances or races, to allow your feet to fully adjust.

Ensure the Quicklace™ mechanism is fully engaged. If still an issue, pull the lace tab gently but firmly to secure, then ensure the excess lace is properly tucked into the lace pocket to avoid accidental loosening. For loosening, fully depress the button and pull the tab upwards with sufficient force.

Re-tighten the Quicklace™ system, ensuring a snug fit without being overly restrictive. Check your sock thickness; sometimes a thicker or thinner sock can improve fit. Ensure the OrthoLite® insole is correctly positioned inside the shoe.

Inspect the Mud Contagrip® outsole for embedded debris (small rocks, mud clogs) that might be hindering traction. Clean the lugs thoroughly with a brush and water. If the outsole lugs appear excessively worn, it may be time to consider replacing the shoes.

Remove and air out the OrthoLite® insoles after each use. You can also hand wash the insoles with mild soap and water. For the shoes themselves, spray a shoe deodorizer or use baking soda packs inside overnight to absorb odors. Ensure shoes are thoroughly dried after use.

While highly abrasion-resistant, extreme impacts can still cause damage. For minor scuffs, clean the area gently. For tears, consider specialized shoe repair adhesives designed for synthetic textiles, or consult a professional shoe repair service for more significant damage.
