FAQs

What is the maximum capacity for washing versus drying?

The machine can wash up to 11kg of laundry, but the drying capacity is limited to 6kg per load.

Can I control this washer dryer from my phone?

Yes, using the LG ThinQ app, you can start, stop, and monitor cycles, as well as download additional programs.

How often should I clean the machine?

It is recommended to run a drum clean cycle periodically and clear the lint filter after every drying cycle.

Is the motor covered by a special warranty?

LG's Inverter Direct Drive Motor is designed for durability and quiet operation; check your specific regional documentation for warranty terms.

How does the heat pump save energy?

Unlike traditional dryers that use high-heat electric elements, the heat pump recycles air at lower temperatures, consuming significantly less electricity.

Does this model have a delayed start feature?

Yes, you can use the delayed start timer to schedule your laundry to finish whenever it is most convenient for you.

Troubleshooting

The appliance does not start when the cycle is selected.

Ensure the door is firmly latched and the child lock feature is not currently activated.

Clothing remains damp after a drying cycle.

Ensure the drying load capacity is not exceeded (max 6kg) and check that the airflow filter is clean.

Excessive noise or vibration during the spin cycle.

Verify that all shipping bolts have been removed and that the machine is leveled on all four feet.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

As a freestanding unit, the LG WHX9016TLC requires a level surface and proximity to both water inlet and drainage points. Ensure the transit bolts are removed prior to the first use to prevent vibration. For maintenance, regularly wipe the door seal to remove debris and use the Smart Diagnosis feature via the ThinQ app to check for performance irregularities. Keep the filter area clean to ensure optimal airflow for the heat pump drying system. Always check garment labels against the available drying programs (Cotton, Timed, Wool, Easy care) to prevent damage to heat-sensitive materials.
