FAQs
Are these slides suitable for swimming?
The Nike Kawa Slides are suitable for wearing to and from the pool or beach. While they can get wet, they are not designed for active swimming or prolonged submersion and may become slippery when fully wet.
How do I clean the Nike Kawa Slides?
You can clean them with a damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Gently wipe the strap and footbed, then rinse off any soap residue and allow them to air dry completely.
Do these slides offer arch support?
The Kawa Slides feature a soft foam footbed designed for general comfort and cushioning. They do not offer specialized orthopedic arch support.
Can my child wear these slides all day?
Yes, for casual wear and light activities, they are designed for comfort. However, for active play or sports, we recommend footwear that offers more support and protection.
What material is the strap made from?
The strap is made from a soft synthetic material, designed for flexibility and comfort.
Are these slides true to size?
Nike footwear generally runs true to size. We recommend checking Nike's official size chart to ensure the best fit for your child, especially as children's sizes can vary.
Troubleshooting
Slides feel too loose or too tight
Ensure you have the correct size. While designed for a comfortable fit, slides offer less adjustability than shoes. Refer to Nike's size guide for best fit.
Foot slips inside the slide
This can happen if feet are wet or sweaty. Ensure feet are dry before wearing. On very smooth or wet surfaces, exercise caution.
Slides make a squeaking noise
New slides can sometimes squeak due to friction between materials or specific floor types. This often resolves with wear. Cleaning the footbed and ensuring it's dry can also help.
Unpleasant odor develops
Regularly clean the footbed with mild soap and water, and allow to air dry completely. Ensure they are not stored while damp.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
The Nike Kawa Slides are designed for instant use. Simply slide your child's foot into the slide, ensuring their heel is properly positioned on the footbed.
Compatibility
These slides are versatile for casual wear and pair well with:
- Swimwear for pool or beach days
- Casual shorts and t-shirts for everyday comfort
- Pajamas for comfortable indoor lounging
They are ideal for relaxed environments where ease of wear and comfort are paramount.
Care
Proper care helps maintain the longevity and appearance of the slides:
- Cleaning: Gently wipe the strap and footbed with a damp cloth. For tougher dirt, use a mild soap solution and rinse thoroughly with water. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Drying: Allow the slides to air dry completely at room temperature, away from direct sunlight or extreme heat, which can damage the materials.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place when not in use. Avoid prolonged exposure to extreme temperatures.
- Odor Prevention: If odors occur, clean the footbed thoroughly and ensure the slides are fully dry before storage. You may also sprinkle baking soda on the footbed overnight to absorb odors, then brush it off.
