Product Information
Full details
This Axus Decor Paint Roller Kit is designed for DIY painters and professional decorators seeking an ultra-fine finish on smooth or nearly smooth surfaces. Its key benefit is the Pro-Finish medium pile roller sleeves, which ensure minimal splatter and shedding for a clean, professional result. A potential caveat is its primary suitability for smooth surfaces, which may limit its effectiveness on heavily textured walls without different roller sleeves. The kit includes two roller sleeves, a paint tray, and a robust roller frame.

FAQs
What type of surfaces is this roller kit best for?
This kit is ideal for smooth or nearly smooth surfaces like drywall, plaster, and previously painted walls or ceilings where a fine finish is desired.
Can I use this roller with any type of paint?
Yes, the roller sleeves are suitable for use with most types of interior paint, including latex, acrylic, and oil-based paints. Ensure you clean the roller appropriately based on the paint type used.
How do I attach an extension pole?
The Pro-Frame features a threaded end. Simply screw a compatible extension pole onto this thread until it is securely tightened.
How many roller sleeves are included?
The kit includes two Pro-Finish medium pile roller sleeves.
What are the dimensions of the roller sleeves?
The roller sleeves are 9 inches in width.
Is the paint tray durable?
The paint tray is constructed from recycled plastic and designed for functional use. While durable for standard painting tasks, it is not intended for heavy-duty or industrial applications.
How should I store the roller after use?
After thorough cleaning and drying, store the roller sleeve and frame in a dry location away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures to maintain their condition.
Troubleshooting
Uneven paint application or streaking
Ensure the roller sleeve is fully and evenly loaded with paint. Check that the surface being painted is clean and free of dust. If using an extension pole, ensure it is securely attached and not flexing excessively.
Roller sleeve shedding fibers
While designed to be shed-resistant, very aggressive application or improper cleaning can sometimes dislodge fibers. Ensure sleeves are fully saturated with paint and avoid excessive dry brushing. If shedding persists, try a new sleeve.
Paint tray is difficult to clean
Clean the paint tray immediately after use before the paint dries. Use warm water and soap for latex paints or the appropriate solvent for oil-based paints. A stiff brush can help remove stubborn residue.
Roller frame feels loose or wobbly
Ensure the roller sleeve is properly seated on the frame. If using an extension pole, check that the screw-on connection is tight and secure.
Pros and Cons
Pros

- Shed-resistant roller sleeves reduce cleanup and improve finish quality.
- Ergonomic handle and extension pole compatibility enhance user comfort and reach.
- Durable construction with rust-resistant metal components.

Cons
- Best suited for smooth or nearly smooth surfaces; may not perform optimally on heavily textured walls.
- Medium pile sleeves might not be ideal for very thick paints or rough textures.
- Requires separate purchase of paint and potentially an extension pole.
- The paint tray, while functional, is basic in design.
Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: To begin, securely attach one of the Pro-Finish roller sleeves onto the Pro-Frame. Ensure it is centered and fits snugly. Fill the paint tray with your chosen paint, using the ribbed section to evenly load the roller by rolling it back and forth.
Compatibility: The Pro-Frame is designed to accept standard screw-on extension poles, widely available from most hardware stores. The roller sleeves are specific to the 9-inch Pro-Frame and its compatible roller sizes.
Care: After use, immediately remove the roller sleeve from the frame. For water-based paints, clean the sleeve thoroughly with warm, soapy water until all paint residue is removed. Rinse well and allow to air dry completely. For oil-based paints, clean with the appropriate solvent (e.g., mineral spirits) following the solvent manufacturer's safety guidelines, then wash with soapy water and rinse. Clean the paint tray with water or solvent as appropriate for the paint used. Store the roller and tray in a clean, dry place.
