Product Information

Full details

The Wolf Tooth Supple Bar Tape is designed for gravel cyclists and adventure riders who demand maximum vibration dampening and long-term comfort on unforgiving terrain. Utilizing a high-performance silicone compound similar to the brand's popular Fat Paw grips, this tape provides excellent grip in all weather conditions; however, its substantial 5mm thickness may feel overly bulky to cyclists accustomed to thin, race-focused handlebar wraps.

Can I reuse this tape?

Yes, because it uses no permanent adhesive, it can be removed and re-wrapped if needed.

Is this tape compatible with road bike drops?

Yes, it fits standard road drop bars, though it is optimized for the wider profile of gravel bars.

How long is each roll?

Each roll is 152cm long.

How do I clean the tape?

What is the weight of the tape?

The total weight is 106g.

Troubleshooting

Tape is slipping on the handlebars

Ensure the bar surface was cleaned of any grease or old adhesive before installation. The silicone requires a clean surface to maintain its position.

Tape feels too thick or bulky

Adjust the overlap percentage during installation to slightly reduce the overall thickness, or ensure the tension is tight to compress the silicone.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Superior vibration dampening for rough gravel roads
Easy to remove without leaving messy glue residue
Excellent grip in both wet and dry conditions
Wide profile covers large or flared gravel bars easily
Highly durable and washable material

Cons

Increased bulk may not suit riders preferring a thin 'feel' on the bars
Heavier than standard cork or foam tapes at 106g
Requires a specific wrapping technique due to the self-fusing nature of silicone

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Installation of the Wolf Tooth Supple Bar Tape differs from traditional adhesive-backed tape. Because it is self-fusing, ensure the handlebars are clean and dry before starting. Maintain consistent tension while wrapping; the tape will bond to itself to create a secure fit that does not slip. For care, the non-porous silicone surface makes cleaning straightforward—simply use a damp cloth with mild soap to remove mud or dirt. If the tape loses some of its tackiness due to dust accumulation, a quick wash will restore the factory-level grip.
