Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Upon receiving your Nike Phantom 6 Academy High FG MG boots, it's recommended to break them in gradually. Wear them for short training sessions initially to allow the materials to mold to your feet and the soleplate to become more flexible. Ensure you lace them properly for a secure, comfortable fit that supports your foot without being overly tight.
Compatibility
These boots feature a MultiGround (FG/MG) soleplate, making them suitable for:
- Firm Ground (FG): Natural grass pitches that are dry or slightly damp.
- Artificial Ground (MG): Modern artificial turf surfaces.
Avoid using these boots on extremely soft, muddy ground (SG) or abrasive indoor surfaces, as this can damage the soleplate and compromise performance. Refer to the size label for your specific UK size, e.g., UK 6.5. For best fit, try them on with the socks you typically wear for play.
Care
Proper care extends the life and performance of your boots:
- Cleaning: After each use, remove loose dirt and mud by gently tapping the boots together. Use a soft brush or damp cloth with mild soap to wipe down the upper and soleplate. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive scrubbers.
- Drying: Allow the boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not expose them to direct heat sources like radiators or sunlight, as this can damage materials and cause them to crack or shrink. Stuffing them with newspaper can help absorb moisture and maintain their shape.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Using a boot bag can protect them during transport and storage.
- Odor Control: If odors develop, consider using shoe deodorizers or sachets to keep them fresh.
