Setup, Compatibility & Care
To maximize the lifespan of your jacket, follow these guidelines:
- Storage: Always ensure the jacket is completely dry before folding it into its packable pouch to prevent mildew or fabric degradation.
- Cleaning: Hand wash or use a delicate machine cycle with a technical detergent suitable for waterproof gear. Do not use biological detergents or fabric softeners, as these can strip the DWR (Durable Water Repellent) coating.
- Drying: Air dry the jacket in a shaded area. Avoid direct heat sources like radiators or tumble dryers, as high heat can damage the waterproof membranes.
- Restoring Repellency: If water stops beading on the surface after extensive use, consider reapplying a specialized wash-in or spray-on DWR treatment to maintain performance.
