Full details

The Caecus Blackout Roller Blind in Cappuccino is an ideal solution for homeowners and renters seeking complete light control, enhanced privacy, and improved thermal insulation. Crafted from durable polyester with a high-performance 3-pass blackout lining, this blind effectively blocks sunlight while adding a warm, modern aesthetic to any living space. While the installation is straightforward, users should note that the total listed width includes the mounting brackets, meaning the actual fabric width is slightly narrower, which may require careful measurement to achieve a perfect fit.

FAQs

Can these blinds be trimmed to fit my window?

Yes, the blinds can be trimmed at home if the standard size does not fit your window perfectly.

What tools do I need for installation?

You only need to supply a drill to secure the provided brackets into your wall or window frame.

Does the stated size include the brackets?

Yes, the stated width is the overall width including the fittings; the fabric itself is slightly narrower.

How do I clean the blind?

Simply wipe the fabric clean with a damp cloth. Do not soak the material or use heavy abrasive chemicals.

Can I mount these outside the window recess?

Yes, the included brackets are designed for both top-fix and face-fix, making them suitable for outside recess mounting.

Does the blackout lining also provide insulation?

Yes, the 3-pass lining provides thermal properties that help keep your room warmer in winter and cooler in summer.

Troubleshooting

The blind does not fit inside the window frame.

The product width includes the mounting brackets. If it is too wide, consider re-mounting as a face-fix outside the recess, or trim the material if necessary.

Light is leaking through the sides of the blind.

This is common for inside-recess mounts. To achieve a complete blackout, install the blinds outside the recess so the fabric overlaps the window frame on all sides.

The fabric is uneven when rolling up.

Ensure the brackets are mounted perfectly level. If the brackets are tilted, the fabric will pull to one side.

Pros and Cons

Provides 100% blackout capability for total light control.
Thermal lining helps improve home energy efficiency.

Flexible mounting options for inside or outside recess installation.
Trimmable design allows for custom sizing adjustments at home.

Cons

Total width includes fittings, meaning fabric is narrower than the stated size.
Requires a drill for installation which is not included.
Requires careful measurement to ensure the blind covers the desired area.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Installation:

Measure your window width carefully, remembering that the bracket width is included in the product size.
Choose between top-fix or face-fix brackets based on your window frame type.
Mark the drill holes, secure the brackets with a drill, and snap the blind assembly into place.

Compatibility:

These blinds are compatible with most standard wooden or metal window frames. If your window size does not match the product dimensions, the material can be trimmed at home to fit your specific width requirements.

Care:

To maintain the appearance, wipe the polyester fabric occasionally with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemical cleaners, as these may damage the blackout lining. Regular dusting is sufficient for day-to-day maintenance.
