The New Balance 2000 Lace Trainers are designed for active kids who need reliable, high-performance footwear inspired by classic 2000s running aesthetics. FAQs

Are these trainers machine washable?

No, machine washing can damage the ABZORB cushioning and the structural integrity of the shoes. Spot cleaning is recommended.

What is the primary difference between these and standard trainers?

The New Balance 2000 Lace features specialized ABZORB SBS pods for enhanced impact protection not found in basic casual footwear.

Is the sizing consistent with other New Balance kids' shoes?

Yes, they generally follow standard New Balance sizing, but it is always best to measure your child's feet as fit can vary slightly by model.

Are these suitable for long-distance running?

These are designed primarily for casual wear and light activity, rather than competitive distance running.

Does the polyester material breathe well?

Yes, the polyester construction provides adequate ventilation for everyday activities and keeps the shoe weight down.

Troubleshooting

Laces coming undone during activity

Use a double knot technique or replace with high-friction athletic laces.

Cushioning feels less responsive after heavy use

Rotate between two pairs of shoes to allow the foam to decompress fully overnight.

Polyester upper looks dusty or dull

Gently wipe with a damp microfiber cloth to restore the deep black finish.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure your trainers stay in great condition, follow these guidelines:

Fit: Ensure you have selected the correct UK size, as the 2000 Lace series provides a snug performance fit.
Lacing: Tighten the laces starting from the bottom eyelets for an even distribution of pressure across the midfoot.
Cleaning: Use a soft-bristled brush to remove dry dirt from the polyester upper. For deeper stains, use a mild detergent mixed with lukewarm water and a damp cloth; avoid soaking the shoes or machine washing, as this may compromise the adhesive bonds and foam integrity.
Air Dry: Always allow the trainers to air dry in a well-ventilated area, away from direct heat sources like radiators, which can warp the cushioning materials.
