The Liberon Palette Wood Dye in Medium Oak is designed for DIY enthusiasts and professionals looking to add a natural-looking, water-based colour to interior bare woodwork. Its key benefit is providing quick, uniform colouring that allows the wood grain to show through, enhancing furniture, floors, and doors before topcoat application. A potential caveat is that it requires a topcoat finish (oil, wax, varnish, or French polish) for protection and durability.

Yes, the Liberon Palette Wood Dye is EN 71 - Part 3 approved, making it safe for use on children's toys.
Ensure the wood surface is properly prepared and sanded. Apply the dye evenly in a single direction, and avoid over-brushing. Wipe away excess dye after a few minutes if necessary.
Apply a second coat of dye after the first coat has dried for at least 2 hours. Ensure consistent application.
This can happen with very porous woods. Consider applying a wood sealer or conditioner before the dye, or use a grain filler.
Work in smaller sections and apply the dye more rapidly. Ensure the room is not too hot or in direct sunlight.
Preparation: Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, or old finishes. Sand bare wood smooth for best results.
Application: Stir the dye thoroughly before use. Apply evenly using a foam applicator or brush. For a deeper colour, apply a second coat once the first is dry. Always test on an inconspicuous area first to check the colour and grain effect.
Compatibility: This dye is designed for use on all interior bare softwoods and hardwoods. It is compatible with oil, wax, varnish, and French polish finishes. Do not apply over existing finishes.
Care: Clean application tools immediately after use with water. Store the dye in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.
