Setup, Compatibility & Care
To set up the rug, place it gently over the horse's back, ensuring the neck cover is properly adjusted before securing the chest buckles. Adjust the front buckles for a snug fit that prevents slipping but does not restrict chest movement. Cross the low surcingles under the belly, ensuring they are loose enough to fit a hand between the strap and the horse, but tight enough to prevent tangling. Always use the removable leg straps to prevent the rug from blowing forward in high winds. For care, gently hose off mud and debris while the rug is on the horse or hanging on a rail. When cleaning, avoid harsh detergents that can degrade the Guard-Tec waterproof coating, and always allow the rug to air dry completely before folding it for seasonal storage.
