Full details

The Callaway CB12 Wedges are designed for adult female golfers seeking to improve their short game through enhanced forgiveness, consistency, and confidence. Their key benefit lies in the Tri-Sole design and perimeter weighting, which promote smooth turf interaction and stability, turning mishits into better scoring opportunities. A potential consideration is that the cavity back design might not appeal to golfers who prefer a more traditional blade-style wedge.

FAQs

Who is the Callaway CB12 Wedge designed for?

The Callaway CB12 Wedge is designed for adult female golfers who are looking to improve their forgiveness and consistency in their short game.

What is the key benefit of the Tri-Sole design?

The Tri-Sole design provides increased versatility and forgiveness by ensuring smooth interaction with the turf and sand, reducing digging and promoting consistent contact across various lies.

How does the OPUS Groove Technology help my game?

OPUS Groove Technology is engineered to produce consistent spin and predictable launch control, helping your shots stop more reliably on the green and providing confidence from different lies.

What is the purpose of the perimeter weighting?

The 12 grams of perimeter weighting enhance forgiveness, helping to stabilize the clubface on off-center hits and making mishits more playable.

What kind of feel can I expect from these wedges?

The wedges feature urethane microspheres that absorb unwanted vibrations, resulting in a softer and more pleasant feel upon impact.

Are these wedges suitable for bunker shots?

Yes, the Tri-Sole design, with its wider sole, helps the wedge glide through sand more easily, making it effective for bunker shots.

What are the available lofts and bounces?

The CB12 wedges are available in lofts from 50° to 60°, with various bounce options, including 12° and 14°, featuring a Tri-Level sole grind.

Troubleshooting

Inconsistent spin

Ensure the clubface is clean before each shot. Debris in the grooves can significantly reduce spin. Also, verify you are making solid contact with the ball.

Club digging into the turf

This may indicate a technique issue or that the specific loft/bounce combination is not ideal for your swing or course conditions. Try to maintain a shallower angle of attack or consider a wedge with more bounce if you tend to dig.

Shorter than expected distance

Check for proper contact and swing speed. The graphite shaft offers a lighter feel, which can help some players generate speed, but ensure it's suitable for your game.

Vibration on impact

While urethane microspheres are designed to dampen vibration, severe shock from poor contact can still be felt. Focus on clean strikes to enjoy the intended feel.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Increased forgiveness for off-center strikes.
  • Versatile sole design works well from various lies and turf conditions.
  • Consistent spin and control thanks to OPUS Groove Technology.
  • Confidence-inspiring, larger profile at address.
  • Softer feel on impact due to urethane microspheres.

Cons

  • Cavity back design may not suit traditionalists.
  • Graphite shaft might offer a different feel than steel for some players.
  • Specific loft and bounce combinations may be limited.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

The Callaway CB12 Wedges come equipped with a UST Mamiya Recoil Wedge Graphite shaft and a Lamkin Comfort ST+2 Soft Chevron grip, offering a standard configuration designed for comfort and control. These wedges are available in various lofts and bounce angles, including 50°, 52°, 54°, 56°, 58°, and 60°, with Tri-Level sole grinds, to suit different player preferences and course conditions. They are designed for adult female golfers and are available in right-handed and left-handed options for most lofts. To care for your CB12 wedges, regularly clean the clubface after each use to remove dirt and debris, which can affect spin. A soft brush or damp cloth is sufficient. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners that could damage the groove technology or finish. Store the clubs in a dry place when not in use to prevent rust or corrosion.
