The Barbour Treeton Wax Jacket is a premium outerwear staple designed for adults seeking a reliable blend of classic aesthetic and weather-resistant performance. It is an ideal choice for those who value heritage style and durable cotton construction for everyday wear, though users should note that the waxed finish requires periodic maintenance to retain its water-repellent properties.

No. Machine washing will ruin the wax coating and compromise the jacket's water-repellent properties.
The frequency depends on usage. If you wear it daily in wet weather, you may need to re-wax it once a year.
It is an excellent outer shell, but you should layer it with warmer garments underneath as it is not heavily insulated.
A slight tacky feel is normal for waxed cotton. If it feels excessively sticky, store the jacket in a cooler, airy space to allow the wax to settle.
A hair dryer can be used carefully to soften the wax for even distribution, but keep it at a distance to avoid overheating or damaging the cotton fabric.
Gently wipe the exterior with a cold, damp sponge or cloth. Do not use soap or detergents.
The wax coating has likely worn thin; you should re-apply a Barbour-approved wax dressing to restore weather resistance.
Hang the jacket in a well-ventilated room or outdoors in a shaded, breezy area to air it out.
Because the Treeton Wax Jacket is a specialized garment, it should never be washed in a machine or dry-cleaned, as this will strip away the protective wax finish. To clean the jacket, use a cold damp cloth to wipe away surface dirt. If the jacket loses its water-repellent quality over time, it is recommended to apply a professional-grade wax dressing according to manufacturer guidelines. Always store the jacket in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area, and avoid placing it near direct heat sources like radiators to prevent the wax from melting or becoming uneven.
