Setup, Compatibility & Care
Before initial use, wash the barrel thoroughly with warm water and a mild, food-safe detergent to ensure the interior is completely clean. To ensure a tight seal, check the threads on the lid and the rim of the barrel for any debris before screwing it shut; cross-threading can compromise the seal. When using for fermentation, do not fill the barrel to the very brim to allow for expansion or gas release. For cleaning, wipe down the smooth interior with a soft cloth and avoid abrasive scrubbers that could create scratches where bacteria might hide. Ensure the barrel is completely dry before sealing for long-term dry food storage.
