Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup and Initial Wear
- Fitting: Ensure a snug but comfortable fit. Your toes should lightly brush the end of the boot, and your heel should feel secure without excessive slippage.
- Lacing: Lace them firmly but not overtight, ensuring even pressure across your foot. Experiment with lacing patterns if you experience pressure points.
- Breaking In: Wear the boots for a few short sessions before a big game. This helps the synthetic upper mold to your foot and prevents blisters.
Compatibility
These boots are specifically designed for Soft Ground (SG) pitches. This means wet, muddy, or natural grass surfaces where the ground is pliable. They are not recommended for firm ground (FG) or artificial grass (AG) pitches, as the metal studs can cause damage to the pitch and the boots, and may not provide optimal grip.
Care and Maintenance
- Clean After Each Use: Immediately after play, remove excess mud and debris from the upper and sole. Use a soft brush or cloth with lukewarm water.
- Check Studs: Regularly inspect the metal studs for wear or looseness. Tighten any loose studs with a stud wrench to ensure optimal performance and prevent loss. Replace worn studs as needed.
- Drying: Allow boots to air dry naturally at room temperature, away from direct heat sources (like radiators or direct sunlight) which can damage synthetic materials. Stuffing them with newspaper can help absorb moisture and maintain shape.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place. Avoid leaving them in a kit bag for extended periods, as this can lead to odor and material degradation.
