Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Lacing: Ensure the laces are securely and evenly tied. The low-cut collar offers a supportive fit; adjust lacing to be snug but not uncomfortably tight.
- Socks: Wear appropriate football socks designed for cushioning and moisture-wicking to optimize comfort and prevent slippage inside the boot.
- Break-in: While many modern boots require minimal break-in, it's advisable to wear them for a few short training sessions before a full match to allow them to mold to your feet.
Compatibility
These boots are specifically designed for Firm Ground (FG) pitches. This refers to natural grass fields that are dry and relatively hard. The stud configuration is optimized for maximum traction on this surface. Using them on artificial turf (AG), soft ground (SG), or indoor surfaces is not recommended, as it can compromise performance, damage the boots, and potentially lead to injury.
Care
- Clean After Each Use: Remove loose dirt and grass immediately after playing. Use a soft brush or damp cloth to wipe down the upper and outsole.
- Remove Insole: If removable, take out the insoles to air them out and prevent odor buildup.
- Air Dry: Do not dry the boots using direct heat sources (e.g., radiators, hair dryers), as this can damage the materials. Instead, stuff them with newspaper to absorb moisture and maintain their shape, then let them air dry in a well-ventilated area.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Using a boot bag can protect them during transport.
- Avoid Machine Washing: Never machine wash your football boots, as this can degrade the materials and adhesives.
