Product Information

Full details

The Regatta Marek Waterproof Short Padded Jacket is an ideal choice for men seeking reliable thermal protection without the bulk of a full-length coat. Designed for everyday winter utility, it combines a water-repellent exterior with efficient synthetic, feather-free insulation to keep you warm and dry during damp, cold weather. While it offers excellent versatility for city commutes or casual outdoor walks, users should note that the shorter cut may provide less coverage for the upper legs during extreme wind or heavy downpours.

FAQs

Is this jacket truly waterproof?

It is designed with water-repellent materials suitable for everyday showers and damp weather, but it should not be considered a substitute for a heavy-duty technical rain shell.

Does it contain animal products?

No, the Regatta Marek utilizes feather-free, synthetic insulation, making it a vegetarian and vegan-friendly option.

How should I store this jacket during the summer?

Store it on a wide, padded hanger in a breathable garment bag in a cool closet, away from direct sunlight.

Can I wear this while cycling?

Yes, its shorter cut prevents the hem from getting tangled in the bike frame, making it quite practical for commuting.

Does the hood detach?

No, the hood is integrated into the design to ensure maximum weather protection and simplicity.

Troubleshooting

Water begins to soak through the outer fabric

The DWR coating has likely worn off. Re-apply a water-repellent spray treatment and ensure the jacket is clean before application.

Insulation feels flat or lumpy

Wash the garment and tumble dry on low with tennis balls or dryer balls to redistribute the synthetic fill evenly.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Lightweight and non-bulky silhouette
  • Effective water-repellent exterior
  • Practical storage options with double-entry pockets
  • Comfortable inner cuffs prevent heat loss
  • Sustainable, feather-free synthetic insulation

Cons

  • Shorter length provides less lower-body coverage
  • Not suitable for extreme mountaineering environments
  • Limited to casual winter use rather than high-intensity sports

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To maintain the water-repellent properties and insulation loft of the Regatta Marek, follow these guidelines:

  1. Cleaning: Use a gentle, cool machine wash cycle with mild detergent. Avoid fabric softeners as they can strip the water-repellent coating.
  2. Drying: Air dry whenever possible to preserve the insulation. If machine drying is necessary, use a very low heat setting with dryer balls to fluff the synthetic padding.
  3. Re-proofing: If you notice water no longer beads off the surface, use a specialized spray-on DWR (Durable Water Repellent) treatment after washing.
  4. Storage: Hang the jacket on a sturdy hanger in a cool, dry place to prevent the insulation from becoming compressed over long periods.
