FAQs

Are these boots suitable for wide feet?

The Mercurial line is typically designed with a sleek, aerodynamic profile that leans toward a narrower fit. Players with very wide feet may find the lockdown feel tight.

Can I use these on indoor surfaces?

No, these are firm ground (FG) boots. Using them on hard, indoor, or concrete surfaces will cause excessive stud wear and may lead to injury.

How do I maintain the knit collar?

Gently wipe the knit area with a damp cloth after play. Avoid pulling on the collar harshly when putting the boots on to maintain its elasticity.

What is the primary material used for the upper?

The upper is constructed from high-quality, durable synthetic material engineered to mimic the feel of leather while providing the benefits of lightweight technology.

Are the insoles removable?

Yes, the insoles can be removed for cleaning or to replace them with custom orthotics if preferred.

Troubleshooting

Upper feels too tight or stiff

Apply a small amount of warm water to the synthetic material or wear them during light training sessions to help the material soften and mold to the foot.

Studs collecting excessive mud

Use a specialized boot cleaning brush with stiff bristles to clear the gaps between chevron studs to maintain grip.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Excellent acceleration due to chevron stud pattern
  • Lightweight construction reduces fatigue
  • Knit collar provides superior ankle support and stability
  • Highly responsive feel underfoot
  • Modern, high-visibility aesthetic

Cons

  • Synthetic material may feel stiff initially
  • Requires proper surface selection to prevent premature wear
  • Slim profile might not suit those with wider feet

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure your boots last through the season, follow these guidelines:

  1. Break-in: Wear the boots for short sessions (30-45 minutes) on grass before using them for full 90-minute matches to allow the synthetic upper to adapt to your foot shape.
  2. Surface Compatibility: These studs are optimized for firm ground (FG) pitches. Avoid using them on artificial grass surfaces if they are not specifically rated for it, as this can increase stud wear.
  3. Cleaning: After every match, remove loose dirt using a soft brush. Wipe the upper with a damp cloth and mild soap. Never use a washing machine or tumble dryer, as heat can degrade the adhesive and synthetic bonding.
  4. Storage: Dry them naturally in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight or heaters, which can cause the leather-like synthetic to crack.
