ForgeFix Flat Penny Washers have a 25mm outside diameter and are bright zinc plated for increased corrosion resistance. They are often called 'Penny Washers' due to their similarity in size to an old penny. Washers provide a smooth surface for nuts or bolts to bear on, reducing loosening from uneven fastening surfaces. Their primary purpose is to distribute the load under a bolt head or nut face in various bolting applications. The zinc coating prevents oxidation, creating a longer-lasting finish by forming a barrier and acting as a sacrificial anode if damaged. This results in a fine white dust instead of iron oxide. These M6 washers have a 1.5mm thickness and distribute the load of M6 threaded fasteners, ensuring they are less likely to loosen. Made from mild steel with a zinc-plated finish for durability and corrosion resistance.
