Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setting up the Castille Stone Lite pot is straightforward. For indoor use, ensure you use a saucer if you decide to drill holes, or place a layer of expanded clay pellets at the bottom to manage water retention. If placing the pot outdoors, locate the pre-marked points at the base, use a standard drill bit to create your drainage holes, and fill the base with a few inches of gravel to improve aeration.
To keep the pot looking its best, wipe down the exterior with a damp cloth periodically to remove dust or garden debris. Avoid using harsh chemical cleaners or abrasive scouring pads, as these can damage the antique pewter finish. During severe winter conditions, while the pot is frost-proof, ensure that it is elevated off the ground slightly if placed on a flat patio to prevent water pooling underneath.
