FAQs

Is this planter frost-proof?

Yes, the galvanised metal construction is durable and designed to withstand standard outdoor temperature fluctuations.

Can I plant directly into the metal pot?

Yes, you can plant directly into it, but it is highly recommended to add drainage holes to the bottom first to ensure plant health.

How do I move the planter when full?

The pot features integrated side ring handles, which provide a secure grip for two-person lifting when the pot is filled with soil.

Does the pot come with a saucer?

No, the planter does not include a separate saucer; for indoor use, you should place a tray underneath to protect your surfaces.

Is the finish prone to fading?

The distressed vintage finish is designed to look aged; while it is durable, prolonged exposure to intense, direct UV light may cause minor weathering over several years.

Troubleshooting

Water pooling inside the planter

Drill small holes in the base to allow for proper drainage.

Visible surface rust appearing over time

Gently scrub with a soft brush and apply a clear metal sealant to protect the galvanised layer.

Pot sliding on smooth floor surfaces

Apply adhesive rubber feet or a non-slip pad to the bottom rim of the planter.

Pros and Cons

Integrated side handles allow for convenient portability
Generous 50cm size accommodates a variety of plant types

Cons

Metal can become hot to the touch in direct, intense sunlight

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setting up your planter is straightforward. If you intend to use the pot for direct planting, determine if you need to drill drainage holes in the base to prevent waterlogging. For indoor environments, it is recommended to use a protective saucer or liner to capture moisture. To maintain the vintage finish, avoid using harsh abrasive cleaning agents. Instead, wipe the surface gently with a soft cloth and mild soap. Periodically checking the base for rust after extreme weather conditions will help prolong the life of the metal, and you may consider applying a clear sealant if you prefer to preserve the exact level of distressed detail over several seasons.
