Setup
When you first receive your Hunter Original Chelsea Boots, the main 'setup' involves ensuring the right fit. Try them on with the type of socks you typically wear. While they are true to size, if you are between sizes or plan on wearing thick socks, it is recommended to size up for maximum comfort. Use the nylon pull-tab to easily pull the boots on.
Compatibility
For optimal comfort and to protect your skin from contact with the rubber, we recommend wearing Hunter Chelsea socks, which are specifically designed to complement these boots. Any standard socks will work, but Hunter's dedicated socks offer enhanced protection in specific areas.
Care
Maintaining your Hunter Original Chelsea Boots is straightforward to ensure their longevity and appearance:
- Cleaning: Wipe the boots clean with a damp cloth after each use. For stubborn dirt, use a mild soap and water solution. Avoid harsh detergents or solvents.
- Drying: Allow the boots to air dry naturally away from direct sunlight or artificial heat sources, as extreme temperatures can damage the rubber.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place, upright, and away from direct sunlight. Do not fold or crease them.
- Blooming: Occasionally, you may notice a white powdery film on your rubber boots. This is known as 'blooming,' a natural process where insoluble waxes rise to the surface of the natural rubber. This is not a defect and can be easily wiped away with a damp cloth or treated with a Hunter Boot Buffer or silicone-based rubber boot care product to restore the original finish.
