FAQs

How do I clean the Birko-Flor uppers?

Use a damp cloth to wipe away dirt and debris. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.

Can I wear Birkenstock Arizona sandals in the rain?

While they can handle some moisture, prolonged exposure to rain is not recommended, as it can damage the cork footbed. Dry them naturally if they get wet.

What is the lifespan of Birkenstock Arizona sandals?

With proper care, Birkenstock sandals can last for many years. The durability depends on the frequency of wear and how well they are maintained.

How do I break in my Birkenstock sandals?

Wear them for short periods initially and gradually increase the wear time. This allows the footbed to mold to your feet.

What is the difference between a 'Narrow Fit' and a 'Regular Fit'?

The 'Narrow Fit' is designed for those with narrower feet. Measure your feet and consult the Birkenstock size chart to determine the best fit for you.

Can I replace the footbed?

Birkenstock offers a repair service that may include footbed replacement, depending on the damage.

Troubleshooting

Sandals feel too tight.

Loosen the buckles on the straps to adjust the fit. Ensure you have the correct size and allow for the break-in period.

Cork footbed is cracking.

Avoid exposing the sandals to excessive heat or dryness. Consider using cork sealant to protect the footbed.

Sandals feel slippery.

Ensure your feet are dry. The footbed may become less grippy over time; clean it with a damp cloth.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Excellent arch support for all-day comfort.
  • Durable materials that withstand regular wear.
  • Stylish design suitable for various outfits.
  • The contoured footbed molds to the foot for a custom fit.

Cons

  • The 'Narrow Fit' may require adjusting your usual size.
  • Cork footbed can be damaged by excessive moisture or heat.
  • Break-in period required for the footbed to fully mold to your feet.
  • Some find the straps can rub the feet initially.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure the longevity of your Birkenstock Arizona sandals, follow these guidelines:

  1. Sizing: Note that the 'Narrow Fit' may require a different size than other brands. Check the Birkenstock size chart for the most accurate fit.
  2. Break-in Period: Allow some time for the footbed to mold to your feet. Wear them gradually to avoid discomfort.
  3. Cleaning: Use a damp cloth to wipe the Birko-Flor upper clean. Avoid harsh chemicals.
  4. Cork Care: Protect the cork footbed from excessive moisture and heat. If it gets wet, allow it to dry naturally.
  5. Storage: Store your sandals in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use.
