Setup, Compatibility & Care
Breaking In Your Loafers
Your Adrian Tassel Loafers, made with durable Smooth leather and Goodyear-welted construction, will require a break-in period. This is normal for quality leather footwear.
- Wear Short Periods: Start by wearing them for short periods, gradually increasing wear time.
- Thick Socks: Wear thick socks to help stretch the leather and prevent rubbing.
- Leather Conditioner: Apply a quality leather conditioner or Dr. Martens Wonder Balsam to soften the leather, especially around the ankle and vamp. Follow product instructions.
Compatibility & Styling
These loafers are incredibly versatile:
- Casual: Pair with jeans, chinos, or shorts for a smart-casual look.
- Smart Casual: Combine with tailored trousers, blazers, or even a casual suit.
- Subcultural: Embrace their heritage by pairing them with mod, punk, or ska-inspired outfits.
Care & Maintenance
Proper care will extend the life and appearance of your Adrian Tassel Loafers:
- Cleaning: Wipe down the Smooth leather with a damp cloth to remove dirt. For deeper cleaning, use a dedicated leather cleaner.
- Conditioning: Regularly apply a good quality leather conditioner or Dr. Martens Wonder Balsam to keep the leather supple and prevent drying or cracking. This also helps with water resistance.
- Polishing: For a polished look, use a Dr. Martens shoe polish in black to restore shine and cover scuffs.
- Sole Care: Clean the grooved PVC sole with a brush and water to remove debris.
- Storage: Store them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight or heat when not in use. Use shoe trees to help maintain their shape.
- Avoid Excessive Wetness: While durable, leather is not entirely waterproof. Avoid prolonged exposure to heavy rain or standing water. If they do get wet, allow them to air dry naturally away from direct heat.
