FAQs

What makes the Nike JA 1 'Light Smoke Grey' unique?

The shoe features a distinctive asymmetrical color design, meaning the left and right shoes have subtly different color arrangements, along with Ja Morant's signature '12' embroidered on the heel.

Are these shoes suitable for other sports besides basketball?

While optimized for basketball with features like advanced grip and cushioning, they can be used for general athletic training and casual wear. However, for specific sports, dedicated footwear is recommended.

How do I clean the leather and mesh materials?

Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe away dirt. For tougher spots, a mild soap solution can be used sparingly, followed by a clean damp cloth. Always air dry.

What is the purpose of the mismatched color scheme?

The asymmetrical design adds a unique visual element and reflects the dynamic and unpredictable style of basketball player Ja Morant.

What size should I order if I'm unsure?

Refer to Nike's official sizing guide for accurate measurements. If between sizes, consider your preferred fit (snug or roomier) and the type of socks you typically wear.

Does the shoe offer good ankle support?

The design includes supportive overlays around the midfoot and heel, offering a secure fit which contributes to overall stability. However, specific ankle support levels may vary based on individual fit and playstyle.

What is the sole made of and how does it perform?

The sole features an advanced grip pattern designed to provide excellent traction and stability on basketball courts. The exact material composition includes rubber for durability and grip.

Troubleshooting

Laces come undone easily

Double-knot the laces or consider using lace locks for a more secure fit during rigorous activity.

Discomfort or rubbing on heels

Ensure the shoes are laced correctly and not too tight. Try wearing thicker socks or use heel inserts for added padding. Break in the shoes gradually.

Traction feels reduced on dusty surfaces

Wipe the outsole with a damp cloth to remove dust and debris, restoring the grip pattern's effectiveness.

Color bleeding on socks

This can sometimes occur with new, dark-colored footwear. Wash socks separately for the first few wears. Ensure the shoes are completely dry before wearing.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup: These trainers come ready to wear. Ensure a proper fit by lacing them securely using the traditional lacing system. Adjust tightness according to your comfort and activity.

Compatibility: Primarily designed for basketball performance, these trainers are suitable for indoor and outdoor court play. They can also be worn for general athletic training and casual use.

Care:

Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe away surface dirt. For stubborn stains, a mild soap solution can be applied sparingly with a cloth, followed by wiping with a clean damp cloth.
Drying: Allow the trainers to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct heat sources like radiators or hairdryers, which can damage materials.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place, preferably in their original box or a shoe bag, to protect them from dust and direct sunlight.
Material Care: Avoid prolonged exposure to excessive moisture or harsh chemicals, which can degrade the leather and mesh components.
