Setup
- Hardware: Connect the access point to your network using an Ethernet cable. Power it using Power over Ethernet (PoE) from a compatible switch or injector.
- Software: Adopt the access point within the UniFi Network Controller software. Make sure your controller software is up to date.
- Configuration: Configure the wireless settings, including the SSID, security type (WPA3 recommended), and password.
- Placement: Mount the access point on a wall, ceiling, or pole, ensuring it is securely fastened and the antennas are positioned for optimal coverage.
Compatibility
The UniFi U7 Outdoor is compatible with:
- UniFi Network Controller (required for configuration and management).
- PoE-enabled network switches or PoE injectors (802.3at).
- Devices supporting Wi-Fi 7, Wi-Fi 6, and older Wi-Fi standards.
Care
- Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the exterior. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Maintenance: Regularly check the access point for any physical damage or obstructions.
- Environment: Ensure the operating environment stays within the specified temperature and humidity ranges (-30°C to 60°C, 5-95% non-condensing).
- Updates: Keep the UniFi Network Controller and access point firmware up to date for optimal performance and security.
