Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- First Fit: When first trying on the boots, ensure there is a small amount of space (about a thumb's width) between the longest toe and the end of the boot. The fit should be snug, but not uncomfortably tight.
- Break-in Period: Like all new football boots, these may require a short break-in period. Wear them for a few shorter training sessions before a full match to allow them to conform to the foot and prevent discomfort.
- Lacing: Experiment with lacing patterns to find the most secure and comfortable fit for the player's foot shape.
Compatibility
- Surfaces: These boots are Multi-Ground (FG MG), making them suitable for:
- Firm Ground (FG): Natural grass pitches that are firm.
- Artificial Grass (MG/AG): Modern artificial turf surfaces.
- Avoid: Not recommended for soft, muddy natural grass (SG) or indoor/street surfaces, as this can damage the soleplate and compromise performance.
Care
Maintaining your boots properly will extend their lifespan and performance:
- Cleaning After Use: Immediately after each use, wipe off any dirt, mud, or grass clippings. A soft brush or damp cloth is effective for the upper and soleplate.
- Rinse Soleplate: If very muddy, rinse the soleplate under cool running water. Avoid using hot water, which can damage materials.
- Drying: Allow boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not use direct heat sources like radiators or hairdryers, as this can cause the synthetic material to crack or stiffen.
- Odor Control: Remove insoles to air out if possible. Using boot deodorizers or stuffing with newspaper can help absorb moisture and control odors.
- Storage: Store boots in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. A boot bag can protect them during transport.
