Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure your plant gets the best start, choose a container with adequate drainage holes or select a site in the garden that receives full sun and has well-draining soil.
- Planting: If moving to a container, use a high-quality, multi-purpose compost. If planting in the ground, ensure the site is not prone to sitting water.
- Watering: During the first season, check the moisture levels regularly. While the plant is drought-tolerant once established, it needs consistent moisture in its first year to build a strong root system.
- Feeding: Apply a balanced liquid fertilizer during the peak flowering months to encourage maximum bloom production.
- Pruning: Lightly trim back any straggly stems in late spring to encourage a bushier shape and denser growth.
