Product Information
Full details
This comfortable and technical cap from Columbia is designed for adults seeking reliable sun protection during outdoor activities. Its key benefit is comprehensive protection against UV rays and the elements, combined with excellent moisture management. A potential caveat is its 'one size fits most' design, which may not suit all head shapes perfectly. The cap features Omni-Shade for broad-spectrum sun defense, Omni-Shield for water and stain repellency, and Omni-Wick for superior moisture-wicking. Laser-cut venting enhances breathability, and an adjustable hook-and-loop closure ensures a customizable fit.

FAQs
What does 'Omni-Shade™ Broad Spectrum' mean?
Omni-Shade™ provides ultimate protection in moderate to extreme sunlight by blocking harmful UVA and UVB sun rays, offering superior defense against sunburn on covered areas.
How does the 'Omni-Wick™' technology work?
Omni-Wick™ pulls moisture (sweat) from your skin into the fabric. It then spreads the moisture across the fabric's surface, accelerating evaporation for fast drying and enhanced comfort.
Is this cap suitable for heavy rain?
The cap features Omni-Shield™ for repellency against *light* precipitation and stains. It is not designed as a waterproof item for heavy or prolonged rain.
How do I adjust the fit of the cap?
The cap has an adjustable hook-and-loop closure on the back. Simply pull or loosen the strap to find your preferred fit.
Can this cap be machine washed?
No, it is recommended to hand wash the cap cold with like colors and lay it flat to dry. Machine washing or drying may damage the fabric and its protective technologies.
What material is the cap made from?
The cap is made from ultralight nylon, which contributes to its durability and lightweight feel.
Is there a specific way to clean the laser-cut vents?
The laser-cut vents are part of the fabric. Standard hand washing according to the care instructions should be sufficient to keep them clean and unobstructed.
Troubleshooting
Cap feels too tight or too loose
Adjust the hook-and-loop strap at the back of the cap to achieve a comfortable and secure fit.
Water repellency seems reduced
The Omni-Shield treatment may diminish over time. Avoid using harsh detergents or fabric softeners, which can degrade the treatment. Consider a specialized water-repellent treatment spray for outdoor gear if performance is significantly reduced.
Cap has stains that won't wash out
For minor stains, use a mild soap and a damp cloth. For more persistent stains, hand wash gently with cold water and like colors. Avoid abrasive cleaners or excessive scrubbing.
Reduced breathability
Ensure the laser-cut vents are not obstructed by dirt or debris. Clean the cap according to the care instructions.
