ASICS Gel-Contend 9 Trainers - Blue - Green - Size 11 UK

Yes, the ASICS Gel-Contend 9 is an excellent choice for beginner runners due to its balanced cushioning and support, making it comfortable for starting a running routine.

While primarily designed for running, the Gel-Contend 9 can be used for light gym activities. However, for activities requiring lateral stability like weightlifting or court sports, a shoe specifically designed for those purposes would be more appropriate.

There should be about a thumb's width of space between your longest toe and the end of the shoe when standing. The shoe should feel snug but not tight, with no pinching or rubbing.

GEL technology is ASICS's proprietary cushioning system designed to absorb shock effectively. In the Gel-Contend 9, it's placed in the rearfoot to soften the impact during the heel strike phase of your stride.

It is generally recommended to replace running shoes every 300-500 miles (480-800 kilometers) or about every 6-12 months, depending on usage frequency and intensity. Look for signs of wear like compressed midsoles or worn-out outsoles.

Yes, the Jacquard mesh upper is designed to promote airflow, helping to keep your feet cool and dry during your runs.

The main upper material is made from at least 20% recycled materials, contributing to reduced waste and carbon emissions. The insole also uses a water-saving production process.

Ensure you have the correct size. If they are new, they may need a brief break-in period. Loosening the laces can also provide immediate relief.

The cushioning materials may have compressed. Consider replacing the shoes if they have been heavily used for over 300-500 miles, or if you notice a significant loss of comfort and support.

The rubber outsole provides traction, but performance may be reduced on very wet or slick surfaces. Exercise caution in such conditions.

While the shoes offer support, some individuals may require additional arch support. Consider using aftermarket insoles designed for enhanced arch support.
