Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup Instructions
- Measure Your Window: Before purchasing, measure the width and length of your window, and consider how much overhang you desire on either side and below the window frame.
- Select a Curtain Rod: These eyelet curtains require a curtain rod. Ensure the rod is sturdy enough to support the weight of the curtains. The rod should extend beyond the window frame by at least 15-20 cm (6-8 inches) on each side to allow the curtains to stack back properly when open.
- Install Curtain Rod: Mount your curtain rod securely above your window, following the manufacturer's instructions for the rod.
- Hang Curtains: Simply thread the eyelets (rings) of the curtain panels onto the curtain rod, alternating the direction of the first and last eyelet if you want a particular hang. Make sure the curtains are evenly spaced.
- Adjust: Gently pull the curtains back and forth along the rod to ensure they glide smoothly and hang uniformly.
Compatibility
- Curtain Rods: These curtains are compatible with standard curtain rods. Ensure the rod's diameter is smaller than the eyelet opening for smooth movement.
- Decor Styles: The cream color and boucle texture are highly versatile, fitting well with modern, contemporary, bohemian, or even rustic decor schemes.
Care & Maintenance
Proper care will help maintain the beauty and functionality of your OHS Boucle Eyelet Blackout Curtains.
- Regular Cleaning: Gently vacuum with a brush attachment or use a lint roller periodically to remove dust and debris from the boucle texture.
- Spot Cleaning: For small spills or marks, gently blot the affected area with a clean, damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not rub vigorously, as this can damage the boucle loops.
- Washing: > Info needed: Washing instructions (e.g., machine wash cold, hand wash, dry clean only). Without specific instructions, a general recommendation is to check the care label on the product itself. If unavailable, professional dry cleaning is often safest for textured, lined curtains to prevent shrinkage or damage to the blackout coating.
- Drying: > Info needed: Drying instructions (e.g., tumble dry low, line dry). Avoid high heat, which can damage the blackout coating.
- Ironing: If wrinkles occur, use a low heat setting and iron on the reverse side (non-blackout side) with a pressing cloth, or steam carefully to avoid damaging the boucle texture or blackout lining.
