The New Balance 204L Low Shoes are designed for adults seeking a versatile, retro-inspired sneaker that bridges the gap between 70s slim-profile aesthetics and 2000s running-style performance. These shoes offer a sophisticated, clean look thanks to their high-quality leather construction and unique arced overlay lines, making them an excellent daily-wear option. Potential buyers should note that as a low-profile silhouette, they provide a minimalist feel compared to chunkier performance runners, which may require an adjustment period if you are used to high-cushion footwear.

The New Balance 204L generally fits true to standard sizing, but if you prefer extra room for thicker socks, consider a half-size up.
While inspired by running aesthetics, these are categorized as lifestyle low shoes and are optimized for casual, daily wear rather than high-impact athletic performance.
Wipe the surface with a damp cloth after every few wears to prevent dirt buildup, and use a dedicated white leather cream to touch up scuffs.
While leather is naturally water-resistant to a degree, these shoes are not waterproof. Use a leather-safe water-repellent spray for extra protection in light rain.
The slim silhouette may feel snug on very wide feet. Those with wider feet may want to try them on in-store first or consider a wider width if available.
Use a shoe tree when not wearing the shoes to help the leather retain its shape and minimize deep creases.
Leather requires a break-in period. Wear the shoes for short intervals at home to soften the material gradually.
Use a soft toothbrush to gently clear debris from the narrow crevices of the overlay stitching.
