The Specialized Tarmac SL8 Expert is a high-performance race machine designed for competitive cyclists and enthusiasts who demand the fastest combination of aerodynamics, low weight, and elite handling. Built with an ultra-light 685g FACT carbon frame and the innovative 'Speed Sniffer' nose cone, it offers significant improvements in stiffness-to-weight ratio compared to its predecessor, though its race-focused geometry may feel aggressive for those seeking a more relaxed endurance fit.

The Tarmac SL8 frame supports tires up to 32mm in width.
The standard Tarmac SL8 Expert build as described does not include a factory-installed power meter.
The Shimano Di2 system is charged via a charging port typically located on the rear derailleur or in a handlebar junction, using the proprietary Shimano charging cable.
The SL8 frame is designed primarily for electronic shifting systems like Shimano Di2.
The frame features a 685g construction, making it one of the lightest aero road frames available.
No, this bike uses thru-axle standards for improved stiffness and safety with disc brakes.
Check the battery charge level and ensure all cable connections are seated firmly in the junction box.
Ensure the wheel is properly seated in the dropouts and verify that the brake calipers are centered correctly over the rotors.
Check the bottom bracket and pedal interface for proper torque, and ensure the thru-axles are tightened to manufacturer specifications.
Setup should be performed by a professional bike shop to ensure that the electronic `Di2` wiring is correctly installed and that the fit matches your body dimensions. Due to the integrated nature of the cockpit, adjustments to the handlebars or stem are more complex than on traditional road bikes. For care, clean the frame with mild soap and water, avoiding high-pressure washers that can damage bearings. Regularly check the electronic battery level via the `Di2` junction box or mobile app, and ensure that the hydraulic brake pads are inspected for wear every few months. Because of the carbon construction, always use a torque wrench when adjusting the seat post or handlebar bolts to prevent structural damage.
