Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Lacing: Ensure your boots are laced securely but not overly tight. Start from the bottom eyelets and work your way up, making sure the tongue is centered. A snug fit prevents foot movement inside the boot and enhances control.
- Socks: Wear your preferred football socks. The PRIMEKNIT collar is designed to integrate seamlessly with your sock, providing a comfortable and supportive fit.
- Break-in: Like most high-performance boots, a short break-in period is recommended. Wear them for a few light training sessions before a full match to allow the materials to mold to your foot.
Compatibility
These boots are exclusively designed for soft ground (SG) surfaces. This includes natural grass pitches that are soft, wet, or muddy. The screw-in studs provide the necessary penetration for grip in these conditions. They are not recommended for use on firm ground (FG), artificial grass (AG), or indoor courts, as this can damage the studs and outsole, and reduce performance.
Care
Proper care will extend the life and performance of your Predator Elite SG boots:
- Cleaning after use: Immediately after play, remove excess mud and dirt using a soft brush or damp cloth. Avoid harsh scrubbing that could damage the Strikeskin fins or HybridTouch upper.
- Stud Maintenance: Regularly check that the screw-in studs are tight. If any studs are worn or damaged, they can typically be replaced (refer to product instructions for compatible replacement studs).
- Drying: Allow boots to air dry naturally in a well-ventilated area away from direct heat sources (e.g., radiators, direct sunlight). Stuffing them with newspaper can help absorb moisture and maintain their shape.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place. Using a boot bag can protect them from dust and scratches.
- Avoid Machine Washing: Never machine wash or tumble dry your football boots, as this can severely damage materials and adhesives. Refer to the product instructions for specific care recommendations.
