FAQs

Is the GEL-CUMULUS 28 a neutral shoe?

Yes, it is designed as a neutral trainer providing cushioning and a fluid ride without aggressive stability posting.

Can I use these for marathon training?

Yes, they are well-suited for the high-mileage volume required in marathon training blocks due to their comfort and durability.

How often should I replace these trainers?

Generally, running shoes should be replaced every 400 to 600 kilometres, depending on your running surface and body weight.

Are they machine washable?

No, machine washing can damage the foam and the structural integrity of the shoe; please use hand-wash methods.

Does the mesh upper provide enough support?

The engineered mesh is designed to be both breathable and secure, providing sufficient lockdown for standard daily running.

What does the OrthoLite X-30 sockliner do?

It provides an additional layer of premium comfort and aids in moisture management inside the shoe.

Troubleshooting

Feeling pressure or hot spots

Adjust the lace tightness to ensure a secure but non-constricting fit; consider a different lacing technique.

Outsole debris accumulation

Use a soft brush to gently remove stones or dirt trapped in the outsole tread grooves after runs.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Plush and energetic underfoot feel
Highly breathable upper for warm conditions
Excellent for steady-paced daily mileage
Durable outsole construction for longevity

Cons

Not intended for high-speed racing
Specific fit profile may not suit all foot shapes
Primary design focus is comfort, not lightweight speed

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure the longevity of your ASICS GEL-CUMULUS 28, follow these guidelines:

Fitting: Ensure you have a thumb's width of space at the front of the shoe to account for foot expansion during runs.
Compatibility: These are neutral trainers, best suited for runners who do not require significant overpronation support.
Cleaning: Hand wash with mild soap and cold water. Remove the OrthoLite sockliner and wash separately.
Drying: Air dry in a shaded, well-ventilated area. Avoid direct heat or sunlight as this can degrade the foam components and warp the mesh upper.
