FAQs
Are the Salomon XT-6 trainers truly waterproof?
The XT-6 trainers are designed with breathable textile linings for comfort and ventilation, rather than being fully waterproof. They offer good protection against light moisture and splashes but are not intended for submersion in water.
How do I determine the correct size?
These trainers feature a unisex fit. Refer to the size chart for accurate conversion from your standard shoe size. The SensiFit™ and EndoFit™ technologies are designed to provide a secure, adaptive fit, but it's recommended to try them on if possible, paying attention to both length and width.
Can these be worn for actual trail running?
While inspired by trail running and featuring trail-worthy traction, the XT-6 is positioned as a sportstyle silhouette adapted for urban use. For technical or long-distance trail running, dedicated Salomon trail running models might offer more specialized features and support.
How durable is the Quicklace™ system?
The Quicklace™ system is engineered for durability and reliability for daily use. The laces are made from strong, synthetic materials designed to withstand repeated tightening and loosening. Replacement laces are available if needed.
What is the main difference between the XT-6 and other Salomon trainers?
The XT-6 specifically blends trail-inspired technology with a modern sportstyle aesthetic for urban exploration. It emphasizes cushioning, stability, and grip for city environments, whereas other Salomon lines might focus more heavily on pure trail performance, hiking, or specific athletic activities.
How often should I clean my XT-6 trainers?
Cleaning frequency depends on usage. For daily wear in clean environments, a light brush and wipe-down periodically may suffice. If worn in wet or dirty conditions, clean them soon after to prevent material degradation and maintain performance.
Troubleshooting
Laces won't stay tight
Ensure the Quicklace™ toggle is fully engaged. Check that the lace pocket is securely holding the excess lace, preventing slippage.
Discomfort or rubbing
Verify the SensiFit™ and EndoFit™ are providing a snug but not overly tight fit. Ensure the lacing is adjusted correctly. Consider using thicker socks if necessary.
Reduced traction on wet surfaces
Clean the Mud Contagrip® outsole to remove any embedded debris that may be affecting grip. Ensure the shoes are not excessively worn.
Feet feel overly warm
The breathable lining is designed for ventilation. For very hot conditions, consider wearing moisture-wicking socks. Ensure the laces are not overtightened, which can restrict airflow.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Lacing: Utilize the Quicklace™ system. Pull the toggle to tighten and tuck the excess lace into the integrated lace pocket on the tongue to prevent it from coming undone or snagging.
- Initial Wear: Allow a short break-in period of a few hours of light activity to let the shoe conform to your foot shape.
Compatibility:
- Terrain: Ideal for urban landscapes, light trails, mixed surfaces, and general active wear.
- Weather: Suitable for most conditions, but performance on ice will depend on surface conditions. The breathable lining is best for moderate to warm weather.
Care Instructions:
- Cleaning: Remove excess dirt with a soft brush. Use a damp cloth with mild soap to clean the upper and midsole. Avoid machine washing.
- Drying: Air dry the shoes away from direct heat sources. Do not tumble dry.
- Insole: The molded OrthoLite® insole can typically be removed for separate cleaning. Allow it to air dry completely.
- Materials: Synthetic and textile uppers can be delicate; avoid abrasive cleaners. The rubber outsole can be wiped clean.
