Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Lacing: Before your first wear, fully unlace the boots to create ample room. Slide your foot in, ensuring the Compression Fit Tunnel Tongue wraps snugly around your instep. Then, progressively tighten the laces from the bottom upwards, ensuring an even, secure fit without overtightening.
- Sockliner Choice: The F50 Elite SG comes with two sockliners. The 'SL' sockliner is thinner and lighter, offering a more direct, speed-focused feel. The 'Comfort' sockliner provides additional cushioning for impact absorption. Insert your preferred sockliner before lacing up.
Compatibility
These boots are specifically designed for soft ground (SG) pitches. This means they are best suited for natural grass fields that are wet, muddy, or have a deeper surface, requiring the longer, often metallic, studs for optimal grip. Using them on artificial turf (AG), firm ground (FG), or hard ground (HG) surfaces can damage the boots, compromise your grip, and potentially lead to injury. Always check the pitch conditions before wearing your SG boots.
Care
Regular care will extend the life and performance of your boots:
- Cleaning After Each Use: After every game or training session, remove excess mud and dirt from the upper and soleplate using a soft brush or cloth. For stubborn mud, a damp cloth or sponge can be used.
- Drying: Allow your boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct heat sources like radiators or sunlight, as this can damage the materials and adhesives. Stuffing them with newspaper can help absorb moisture and maintain their shape.
- Stud Maintenance: Regularly check the studs for wear or damage. Replace any damaged or missing studs promptly to maintain optimal traction and prevent injury.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Using a boot bag can protect them from dust and scratches.
