FAQs

Are the dimensions accurate?

The sizes provided are cut sizes. Due to the reinforced hems, the final finished dimensions may be approximately 10% smaller.

Can I use this for covering my swimming pool?

While it is waterproof, it is intended as a general-purpose utility cover and not specifically engineered for swimming pool safety or long-term chemical exposure.

Is the material heavy?

No, it is made from 90gsm polyethylene, making it lightweight and easy to handle for most users.

How do I secure the tarp?

The tarp features aluminium eyelets every metre. Use the included 10m bungee rope or your own cords to anchor these through the eyelets.

Does the white colour affect heat absorption?

Yes, the white colour reflects sunlight, which helps keep the area underneath the tarp cooler compared to darker-coloured tarpaulins.

Troubleshooting

Tarp flapping excessively in high winds

Ensure all eyelets are anchored using the provided bungee rope and add additional bungee cords to reduce slack.

Water pooling on the center of the tarp

Increase the slope or height of the center support to encourage water runoff.

Eyelet tension causing tearing

Use a bungee cord rather than rigid rope to allow for a degree of elasticity, which absorbs tension spikes.

Reinforced edges enhance structural integrity
Comes with a 10m bungee rope for immediate use
Lightweight yet durable 90gsm material
Multi-purpose design suitable for garden, trade, or leisure use

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To maximize the life of your SolaDirect Tarpaulin, ensure it is pulled taut when installed. Use the provided 10m bungee rope in conjunction with the aluminium eyelets to distribute tension evenly across the reinforced edges. Avoid using sharp objects that may puncture the 90gsm polyethylene surface.

Care Instructions:

Clean the surface with mild soap and water to remove dirt or bird droppings.
Ensure the tarp is completely dry before folding it for storage to prevent potential mildew.
Store in a cool, dry place away from sharp tools.
Avoid dragging the material across rough surfaces, such as gravel, to prevent tearing the polyethylene weave.
