The Bontrager Velocis Road Cycling Shoes are designed for committed road cyclists who prioritize efficient power transfer and a dialed-in fit during long training sessions or high-intensity rides. These shoes feature a high-performance carbon and fiberglass composite sole combined with a precise closure system to ensure maximum output; however, riders should note that the stiff sole is optimized for performance rather than off-bike walking comfort.

These shoes are designed for standard 3-bolt road pedal systems, such as Shimano SPD-SL or Look Keo.
While technically usable, their rigid sole and road-focused tread are not optimized for the walking or terrain encountered in gravel riding.
Turn the Boa IP1 dial clockwise to tighten and counter-clockwise to release tension.
Surface clean with a damp cloth. Do not submerge in water or place in a washing machine, as this can damage the materials and the Boa components.
It indicates a high degree of rigidity, ensuring that your energy is transferred efficiently into the pedal rather than being absorbed by the shoe sole.
Clean the dial mechanism with compressed air to remove grit and ensure the lace is fully seated.
Loosen the Boa dial slightly to improve circulation or check that the cleat position is not placing undue pressure on the ball of the foot.
Tighten the lower Velcro strap first to lock the forefoot, then use the Boa dial to secure the midfoot and heel.
For setup, ensure your road-specific cleats are installed and torqued to manufacturer specifications, checking alignment to avoid knee strain. These shoes are compatible with most standard 3-bolt road pedal systems. For care, wipe down the synthetic uppers with a damp cloth after rides to remove salt and road grime. Avoid using harsh chemical cleaners, as these can degrade the synthetic material. If the shoes become soaked, remove the insoles and air dry them naturally away from direct heat sources, such as radiators, which can warp the sole structure.
