Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Your Salomon Speedcross Peak shoes require minimal setup. Simply put them on and adjust the Quicklace system for a snug fit. To tighten, pull the lace tab upwards until the desired tension is achieved. To loosen, press the release button on the lace tab and slide it down. Ensure an even tension across your foot for optimal comfort and performance.
Compatibility
These shoes are designed primarily for trail running. They are highly compatible with a wide range of natural terrains, including:
- Muddy and soft ground
- Rocky and technical trails
- Loose gravel and dirt paths
- Forest trails with roots and debris
While they can be used for short stints on roads, their aggressive tread pattern and specialized cushioning are not optimized for extended road running. They are compatible with standard athletic socks; choose socks appropriate for trail conditions and distance.
Care
Proper care extends the life of your Speedcross Peak shoes:
- Cleaning: After each run, especially in muddy conditions, remove any loose dirt and debris from the outsole and upper. Use a soft brush or cloth and lukewarm water with a mild soap if necessary. Do not use harsh detergents or put them in a washing machine, as this can damage materials and adhesives.
- Drying: Allow your shoes to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct heat sources like radiators or direct sunlight, which can damage materials. Stuffing them with newspaper can help absorb moisture and maintain shape.
- Storage: Store your shoes in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use. Ensure they are clean and dry before storing.
- Inspection: Regularly check the outsole for wear and tear, and the Quicklace system for any damage. Address minor issues promptly to prevent further problems.
