Product Information

Full details

The Regatta Lofthouse Bodywarmer is a versatile, lightweight insulating vest designed for active children who need core warmth without the bulk of a full jacket. Perfect for layering over hoodies or fleeces during school days and outdoor excursions, it offers essential protection against the elements with its water-repellent finish and reflective safety trims, though it is intended for layering rather than providing heavy-duty waterproof protection in extreme weather.

FAQs

Is this vest waterproof?

It features a water-repellent finish, which means it will shed light rain, but it is not fully waterproof and should not be relied upon in heavy, sustained rain.

Can the hood be removed?

No, the hood is fixed for extra security and warmth.

What should my child wear underneath?

It works best over a fleece, long-sleeve base layer, or a hoodie for optimal warmth.

How do I wash the garment without damaging the reflective trims?

Wash the garment inside out on a cool, gentle cycle. Avoid bleaching or ironing over the reflective strips.

Is the material breathable?

Yes, the polyester material is designed to be breathable, making it comfortable for active kids during movement.

Troubleshooting

The zipper is sticking or catching on the fabric.

Ensure the protected zip guard is held away from the teeth of the zipper while pulling. If it remains stuck, check for trapped fabric strands.

The water-repellent finish seems less effective after several washes.

Use a specialized DWR (Durable Water Repellent) spray treatment suitable for synthetic fabrics to restore the water-shedding properties.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

This bodywarmer is designed for simple, everyday use. To ensure longevity, follow these care instructions:

Cleaning: Machine wash on a gentle cycle using mild detergent. Avoid using fabric softeners, as these can degrade the water-repellent coating.
Drying: Air dry naturally away from direct heat sources like radiators to preserve the loft of the internal padding.
Storage: Hang the garment on a proper coat hanger when not in use to maintain its shape.
Compatibility: The garment pairs best with Regatta fleece jumpers or long-sleeve cotton tops. It fits comfortably under most standard school rain jackets for extra insulation.
